The fun just keeps happening. Today I was invited to Winnsboro for another party. Carla told me to bring a White Elephant gift. Well when I think "white elephant" I think anything you don't want now is the time to get rid of it. Well I have now found out "white Elephant" does not mean the same to all people. Needless to say my tiny white commode with sound effects did not go over real well. Colby I hope you remembered to take it home. This will drive Chelsey nuts!
We played Bingo..can't even write the word without thinking of Momma. Ishould save a bingo card from every game I play in her honor. When we cleaned her house out there in the favorite spot was a bingo card, I can hear her saying " I needed O76 for a win" She saved the card! Why? Oh well that is what made her so special.
Plans tomorrow you ask? Going shopping with my girls. Janie and Kharley. Going back to Tyler to exchange the clothes Kharley got. From Dec 1 to now she grew 6 inches in height. She will have to wear skirts with leggin's. We will not be able to find jeans long enough for her. She is built just like her daddy. All legs and arms.
Kent has gone pheasant hunting and has already called me twice. Once to say they weren't there yet and the other to say !We Made It! A man of few words. I hope he bags his limit, whatever it is.
Okay I am just gonna ramble for a while.
Beginning with Thanksgiving my sister comes up and we start decoration extravaganza!! My sister comes up and the tree is usually up by Sunday after T-giving. Some of the decor is up but not all. The beginning of December we have the McKenzie Christmas. This is all of Kent's Momma's side of the family. It is so much fun. We have it every year the first weekend in Dec. Tradition..love it. Then this year, my sister came back because the next weekend was the tour of homes. Nettie and I finished the home decor and we had more people than you could shake a stick at in and out of our home on that second Sunday in December. Then it was the Christmas party from the school. We went to my bosses house and had more fun. I have done very little shopping at this point and the mad dash to Tyler is on. The first week school is out, I have tons of shopping to do. Didn't think I could do it this year, but guess what............I did it! Christmas Eve is spent with Kent's dad Jack and his brother Tony and his family. We have had Pizza for several years, it is super easy and all the kids love it. Then Santa Comes on Christmas morning we go up to see what that old bogger has left for them grandkids. The joy of getting to see them when they discover all the loot he left is priceless. Janie, Jeff and the kids come on down after that and we have breakfast. Then open more gifts. You would think it was over, then you get a call from your brother and invites you to come and play canasta with his family or your best friend, that happens to be a sister to your sister in law and another invitation and more presents.....Just getting to be with family when you think you have no family left is the best gift of all. I am so fortunate and blessed to have gotten to speak to all of my brothers and sisters during this time of year.
Oh by the way in case there is one human out there that has not heard. My Christmas present this year was NO MORE DIAL UP INTERNET ACCESS.. I think this comparable to the first time my grandparents got off a party line...Sweet!!!
Well I am not as industrious as my friend Carla, as my floors are NOT swept or mopped and I have a sink full of dishes, but I have updated my blog. So Yeah for me!
As this year closes, I hope to all that keep up with the Happy Hayes House, you have had a good year and my wish to all is a better year to come.
Good nite to all and to all a Good nite. C-ya! Nen

Eve of Christmas Eve
I have the boys today, Kentlee and Kyle. Kharley is at her dad's but will be home for Christmas eve and Christmas morning. It looks like Christmas day for us will be slow. Janie and the boys will be off to Jeff's family, and then Kent leaves early the next day on "The Hunt" with the boyz of the cave.
Janie called me a few minutes ago and ask what I was doing I told her I was on Facebook, she said where is the boyz. I said what boyz.....MOM!!!!!I truly did not have a clue where Kyle was, I had to go looking. He was in his favorite spot. The toy closet. Happy as could be, Kenny was coloring a solid white sheet of paper black. Only color he could find. I did find him a coloring book and a 64 count box of crayons. He chose the black one....to color with. It is all about choices! No one needs that many crayons, I suppose.
What do you get your sister for Christmas????? Why overalls of course! She called and said she loved them. When she was down during the tour we went to Tractor Supply and she found a pair that would almost fit Kent and then wore them the rest of the time she was here. The overalls were so big the crotch hung way below her knees, this is NOT the way you wear overalls. So Kent said try and find her a pair that fits. So I did. and she loves them!! Simple things with no thought is the best gifts of all.
For some reason this Christmas has gotten here in such a hurry. From Thanksgiving to now it has flew by. For me at least, not Kenny. The presents under the tree for him is pure torture. That is all he talks about when he is here. Are all those mine Nen?? Yep Kenny that pile is all yours. Whose are them then, will they let me open them? NO Kenny the rest are not yours. But will they let me open them? NO Kenny you can't open them, they belong to everybody else. But will they let me open them? NO Kenny YOU Cant open those presents....You can open your pile of presents only, but when I finish can I open those presents? NO KENNY YOU CAN NOT OPEN ANYBODY ELSES PRESENTS!!! Only open yours, But Nen can I open your presents, Yes Kenny you can open my presents. I love them kids......
Gotta go color with a red crayon, show Kenny there is choices in life!! Love to all. Nen

I am not sick!
If I say it enough, click my heels together 3 times and promise I will never eat liver again, I will feel better right? (I don't really like liver, so I may have blew it huh?)
I like to feel good all the time, especially during the holidays...I remember one time I got the chicken pox at Christmas it was the 3rd year Kent and I was married and we were living on the Weiss place in Point. The same year the big ice storm hit. Anybody remember that I had the chicken POX....no that damn storm was all anybody would talk about. Chicken Pox and now Bronchitis, 30 something years later....is this a pattern? I wonder if another storm is coming? So that means NO ONE will remember I have Bronchitis the Christmas of 2010...
The tour of homes will be here before I know it. Jeannette is coming back up and helping Kent out with a few more lights and balls. Kent sometimes wishes Netter would stay out of his balls business. She was going to bring Cross but when I told her I had been to the Dr. she changed her mind. I really think she is the one that brought this down here at Thanksgiving because as I remember it she was coughing and hacking and looking for relief most of the time she was here. She got better so maybe it won't take as long as the ice storm did.
Got my new Washer and Dryer today!! WooHoo!! It is gonna take a little getting used to. The washer has lots more bells and whistles on it than my wash board did. And the dryer has more lines on it than my old one...LOL!!!
Can you imagine 60+ years ago when you said it was laundry day it was truly a JOB. Granny Jennie had a wonderful story about wash day. Her and her sister Aunt Dellar was in charge of laundry and Granny did not want to wash that day, so after Aunt Dellar got all of the wash pots full of water and heated up to boiling, got some clothes washed and hung out, Granny kicked the pots over and threw down the clothes she had on the line. Granny said Aunt Dellar should have killed her for doing that, and that is the only time I ever heard my Granny have a regret.
Well I am going to lay down on the couch, take advantage of having it all to myself, as Kent is at the Shed with the other Deacons, (yeah right) and I can watch what I want to. And No it aint gonna be Swamp People, bunch of inbred idiots with guns and boats......and white milk boots...really????

The last Dec 1 of 2010
Good Lord, where did this year go? Working at a school the year is all messed up. New school yr begins in Aug. Wished it followed the calendar year. Start in Jan and end in Dec. having 2 year ends in a 12 month period is confusing. I now will step off my soap box.
I didn't get to go to Black Friday with Janie and Jennie, stayed with Jeannette and she worked my ass off. (well....not all of it....)She is the best. Regarding Christmas decorations and the tree, She comes in and knows exactly what and how and where and why it should all go. She kept using the word edit, Nen we need to edit some of the treasures....Did not exactly know what she was talking about , the she started using the phrase "less is more" WTF.....
he with the most wins is my motto.
I have managed to find all the edited stuff and hidden treasures and put them in the rightful place. YES NETTIE I PUT THOSE SANTA FACES UP!!!! The broken horned reindeer and the elves with the missing ear!!!! Edit my ASS!!! love you for all you did.....I just enhanced it a little MORE.
Kent's lights blew up and his balls blew off the tree, you just have to know about these huge balls. Now he has to trace the light problem in the dark, and wait till day light to put his balls back in the tree. he aint happy.
I think it was a squirrel, SQUIRREL! (this is an inside joke only a few will get)
It sure was dark coming home tonite and not a single lite on the outside of our house. Janie on the other hand is lit up like Jackie Don going fishing....I'm just saying.....
Thanksgiving day we were all together. Jeannette, Johnny, Jackie and me...did anyone get a pic? It may never happen again. I do enjoy it when we are all together.
Lots of parties and people in store for us and I hope everyone that wants to come to our house get a chance to, to share in the joy and listen for the laughter's echo.
Good night to all and to all a good night...Love to you Pam, Carla, and Nettie, hope to see ya'll soon.

Windy Wednesday
The wind is howling, now. I have the window cracked just enough that it make that whistling noise, it reminds me of Granny Jennie's old house. The windows could be all the way down and it made that same noise. I miss that old house. It fell in on itself from neglect and termites.
If you have not bought the book "Elf on the Shelf" stop what your doing and go get it right now. I have laughed so hard at my grand kids and want everyone to have the same experience.
You tell this story about how Santa sends elves to watch the boys and girls and he reports back to him every night what he has seen or heard. Funny........when the boys realized he was going to tell on them, the apologies started flying. They would stand reverantly in front of the little gnome and start explaining or begging him not to tell the Big guy.... It is so worth the $$$.
The book has the elf in it and then I purchased an additional elf so I could keep one at my house. I sent the other with Janie and her stories are hilarious. Kharley is great with all of this and she is milking it for all it is worth.
We will be having the McKenzie Christmas Dec 4 (first Sat in Dec) and I sent out the letters with the menu on it. First time I have ever got any feedback, So if anyone out there is reading this we will NOT be HAVING STEW!!! It will be a Mexican Buffet.
And NO I was not thinking about the children...I was thinking about me. I love stew, I know the children won't eat stew...no child can look at a big black cast iron wash pot and think, yum yum, what's for lunch coming out of that!!!??? So Enchiladas it is....We have so much fun at this Christmas party, we started having it at our house when Kent's grandPa Hugh died. Once a year you should gather what family you have left and celebrate being a family, no matter how little it is.
Okay I hear a Klondike Bar calling my name......so good nite to all and to all a good nite. NEN

Where have I been?
to tell the truth I never went anywhere I forgot my password. This time I wrote it down., if I can just remember to not throw it away.
It's been so long I can't think of what i wanted to say, so i will just wing it.
We let Janie and Jeff have a Halloween party at our house, it was a lot of fun. Hayride, lots of kids and the spooky bridge, fun fun, Mackey the dog to the Neighbors, followed us the whole time, we know how very protective he is of the kids and got worried when the boogers jumped out of the creek, that Mackey would eat them alive. So we stopped the hayride, got Janie and Kharley to coax Mackey into the back seat of Kent truck. This is a huge dog that has never rode in a pickup, Kharley got him to sit down, we cracked the windows just a little and off we went to the "spooky bridge" about half mile or so we got to smelling the worst awful greenish odor..Kent looked at me while I was looking at him and I said "well do you feel better" then Mackey made a noise and we both about puked. All 4 windows now are all the way down fan on high trying to get the dog fart smell out of the truck, believe me it was the worst smell EVER!!! And it was Cold outside that night too. Finally the "spooky bridge" was with in sight. And we were right about Mackey, he would have tore them boys up! After a while and all the kids settled down, we let Mackey out of the truck, he did his business and he politely ask the "Boogers" if they would mind taking him back home. They were kinda scared of him at first but Jeff came over and coaxed him into Doug's truck...Kent and I just started laughing, Doug has a single cab pickup and Mackey was in the middle....aint no escaping that.
Looking forward to the upcoming Holiday's. Jeannette will come in and help me and Kent get all decked out for Christmas. Love it Love it. She will be coming up a little before Thanksgiving and by the time she leaves, it will look like Santa Land around here. WE have been invited to be in the tour of homes this year, so I am looking forward to her putting her magic touch on the place. I hope and wish she could just stay until the first of the year, (that way she can help take it all down as well)
This will be my first Christmas holiday off from my job. In the past I have always had to go up during the holidays and work. I no longer hold that position or have that worry anymore. I am soo looking forward to some time off.
Okay that is about all I can do for tonight, it maybe a while before I get back so If i miss you during the upcoming Holidays, I wish you all Glad Tidings...and to all a good night. Nen!

I knew Fall was getting closer!
Happy Fall Ya'll...that's what the sign says and I agree, this is a happy time. Kentlee has made about 4 trips back and forth on his 4 wheeler. He gasses it all the way up and back down the drive way. Its the only sound I am hearing at the moment. He came to the front door, it is wide open, with his helmet on and stated, Nen We Need SOW WERE KEEM, What Kentlee? SOW WERE KEEM, NEN! You mean Sour Cream? YES, THAT'S WHAT I SAID! Mister attitude on a 4 wheeler is about to get his butt kicked.... so I sent what I had (all out of date) and I am feeling quilty about it. Surely Janie has sense enough to look at the dates. Or maybe I should have just fed Kentlee the SOW WERE KEEM to adjust his attitude! Kharley rode the bus home today I thought I had a nail appt. Well I didn't, so I called Janie to ask if I could pick up Kyle and Kentlee from Donna's. Gave them both Dr Pepper on the ride home. It sends them into over drive. That is probably why Kentlee is making so many trips up and down that drive way. Kyle is probably jumping off the roof. I aint telling Janie and who ever is reading this better not either. Gonna see how long it takes from them 2 to run down.
Kent is working 12 hour days, 6 days a week. I love the overtime, but hate being alone this long. I wish we were disciplined enough to put back every penny he has ever made just in overtime. Had we of done that then he might be retired now. But NO we have managed to spend the biggest portion of ever penny he has made. Oh well It's just money.
Well he will be home soon so I will make some fresh tea and heat up the stew.
So To all a good nite. Nen

"Monthly Posting"
Pam jumped my ass at the reunion about not keeping this updated. "Dial UP" darling is the reason for the delay. I love to journal and this is what this is for me. When I get the urge to put my thoughts in writing, it does not always fit into a good time frame. ONe that will take a lot of time to upload/download this website. Then I can't always remember my password. Which I still can't figure out why I have to have a password to share my deep dark secrets for. Oh Well deal with it until I become wealthy and can afford a sad-E-Lite...God know Verizon will never find us in this hole behind these woods.
Today was Kharley's 10th birthday and we had all them down for her B'Day supper. Her Favorite meal in the whole wide world.....Chili Cheese Frito Pies....Simplicity at its best! I had her down this morning and showed her all the cake mixes I had she chose "Yellow Cake" and Chocolate Icing again simply the best!! I tried to make a fudge icing, but could not get it to taste the way I wanted it to so it ended up with a Chocolate Cream Cheese Icing...She loved it.
She wanted it to look like the box so I fixed it as close as I could. That girl has my heart.
As for me and Kent we are doing dang good, looking forward to a quite week. Go to work and come home..No Fair, No parade, No reunion, No shopping, just come home and have the quite life...
(in our dreams, right?) we can hope. I hope this makes Pam happy, I love you and I will say thanks for wanting to know we exist.
Love to all and to all a good nite. Nen

WackyWednesday
Sun, rain, some more sun, then a little rain, oh sun! wait rain...Love it.. Sun's out raining, I always thought that meant the devil was beating his wife, Kent said he thought it meant the sun was out and it was raining...what does he know!
I am loving my new job, every day I get to spend a little more time away from my old responsibilities and I am truly loving being near the kids, which I thought would be the last thing I would enjoy. So at lunch I go into the cafeteria with a hand full of Hershey Kisses, and find Kharley and ask her You want a Kiss? the other girls have caught on to me so I have moved over to Bryan's table(Tutz grandson) and I ask him You want a Kiss? at first he was ducking and dodging and all but ran from me, until he saw what I had in my hand. Biggest ole grin he is a cutie. I look for the sad kids now and try to get a smile from them. I hope they don't go home and tell their parents about a crazy fat lady giving kisses at lunch. Oh well if they do they do, at least they will have something fun to say I hope!
Okay so if you didn't know it my sister is crazy. She came down over the weekend to fish and then she stayed with me on Sat and Sun. I thought Sunday was our Father's birthday so we went to the cemetery to sing to him well come to find out it was the day he died in 1967, so she changed the song to " Farwell to Thee", His birthday (?) was the 18th of Sept. I hope Mom Doe and Vandell got a laugh out of that one.I did, we were going to stop and see if Jackie wanted to go, but I never know if he is night or day shift and would hate to wake him up so we by passed him...
We worked some at our Great Grandparents house, it just feels good to get to go back home. I can feel Aunt Lillie AuntMyrtle and Granny Mc there.
I can't get that Alan Jackson song off my mind " Where I come from" Cornbread and Chicken, front porch sittin....That is what we had for supper, cornbread and chicken I haven't made it to the porch yet, but I hope to visit it before the nite is over.
The reunion of the decade is on Sept 18 so all who attended RHS from 1970 to 1979 better be there! It is gonna be a BLAST FROM THE PAST!"
I graduated in 76, Kent and Jackie 75, Danny 71, Tony 79, Lisa 77 or 78 anyway not only will we get to visit old and I mean really old class mates we could have a family reunion.
Speaking of family, have I ever said how much my family means to me....those grand kids get me tickled and make me smile one minute and then I want them to go home the next.. I am spastic that way, and I know Janie will agree.
Okay so I was just reading back over this post and anyone reading this would think I might be a little random in my thoughts. cough cough, clearing my throat!! I am all over the place here, it must be the rain and cooler weather. Well I gotta clean the kitchen and wash a load of clothes, not that its that hard with a dishwasher and washing machine, but still someone has to push the button.... (that would be me)
Love to all and to all a good nite!!

Kodak Memory Moments
1964--Pratts Dept. store and Winnie Lee dress shop in Sulphur Springs. Lay-a-way plan, 5 new dresses, a package of socks, underwear (with ruffles) full slip, new shoes.
Full day of trying on everything and then not getting to take it home with us until the last week in August, before school started after Labor Day.
Mom and Granny Jennie taking me and Jackie Don shopping on a Saturday.
The smell of brand new Crayola Crayons and looking at that indian head on the "Big Chief Tablet" big ole fat pencils and loose leaf paper for the notebook with dividers.
Waiting on the school bus and Hoss Fly to pick us up and drop us off.
Chocolate ice cream with potato chips and Slam Bang Theater.
I loved being a kid!!!!

HOT AUGUST NITES!
Wow, Aug 2 and 102, what a day. I heard it was gonna be hot like this all week. WOHOO! Thank you lord for letting me work inside a cool building. I was given all the purple hull peas I could pick, and turned it down, because of the heat. Please no one tell Granny Jennie, she would be ashamed of me. Kent is out side working on my birthday present. I love him. He remembered me telling him I would like my Mom's bicycle fixed so I could ride it again. He is putting new tires and I hope he paints over the rust. Should I go ahead and ask him to mount a fan on it for me?
I finally got the couch and chair put up at Aunt Myrtles. I have my living room back. It almost looks empty in here now. I hope to get her house fixed up for a weekend retreat. Or I may just make a play house out of it. WHO KNOWS?
I am rambling here so just keep up with me. Kyle was at the doctors office today, allergies has his sinus' infected so anyway on the way home Kentlee was helping him find his frip frops, (flip flops) and had to unbuckle and get in the floorboard, He told Kyle" If I go to jail, I gonna be mad" Me and Janie fell out laughing!!!
Kyle gets in trouble and has figured out a way to divert the attention, by saying " I gotta PEEPEE" We pulled over and Janie stripped him down and made him stand by the truck. NO PEEPEE, and he still got his butt whooped! Can't wait for the next time he figures out a new ploy.
I met my new boss today. She smiles! What a refreshing way to greet your co workers, with a smile. I can see good things happening at the intermediate already.
Well gonna spend a little time sitting by my man watching Sharks! oh Boy...
Good nite to all and to all a good cool nite. Nen

Just wanted to say.....
Very little! I was reading Pam and Carla's blog and wishing I had the "nuggets" they both have. Everything Pam said to "unknown caller" Ditto times 10..Asshole!!! Carla you are so right. Not worth a tear. Could not have said it better. Or better yet, wished I would have said it to you a long time ago, it may have helped during so horrible times.
Another friend of mine came to see me today, Margie!!!! I miss her and when I see her she has such a way that makes me forget the day to day crap that goes on at my work place. Anyway I wish I could have taken off the day with her, she graduates tomorrow from college/nursing school with a degree in nursing. I am so proud of and for her. She raised 5 kids, worked full time and went to college. She is SUPERWOMAN! Unbelievable.
Speaking of Superwoman, I am NOT! I took a little trip to Austin this past weekend with my grandchildren, just me and 3 wonders of the world, 9-4-3(wonders)Lord it kicked my butt!
We stayed with Jeannette Friday, Saturday and home on Sunday. I needed about 1 wk to get over the drive down there and 1 wk to get over the drive back home. I feel like they didn't quite get the concept of making memories that I had in mind. We or I should say I had a wonderful time while visiting with family, but found myself worrying about them constantly. Poor Kentlee took the blunt of the trip on his face. I swear, there was not enough skin on his face for another band-aid. He managed to bump, cut and hit his head, lip and ear ever time he turned around. And of the 3 Kyle should have been the one to worry about the most. I guess big brother was watching out for his little bro. Kharley may never speak to me again. I depending on her way to much, but I needed so much help and she was the best up to a point and I could tell when I had pushed her beyond her 9yr limit.
This was suppose to be short so good nite to all and all a good nite. Nen

July 21, 1981
Yep, that is the day the Lord blessed us with Janie Lorene. Tonite I fixed her birthday supper and the stories started rolling. BAck then we had just finished having a birthday party for Grand Pa Buster on the 18th and I had ate so much cantalope I was miserable. NOt only stuffed from eating but I was approx 9month and 12 day pregnant. Kent rolled my big ass home and called his Mom. She told me it probably was just gas. I love, loved her for her humor. Hell Hughlene I knew it was cantalope. Anyway, Kent called her back about 3 am the next morning, the 19th, she told us to call the ER so we did. They told us to come on to Sul. Spgs and they would examine me. We called Hughlene again and told her we were on the way to the hospital. Kents brother Tony beat me and Kent to the hospital. First borns are such a mystery and make other people act wierd... I thought I would go into body racking pain with labor and come home with a baby, so I never even thought it was anymore than indigestion from tons of cantalope. We lived approx 30 miles from the hospital and they would not let us go home. We would be bringing home a baby. We made all the necessary calls, Jack and Hughlene (again) My Mom and Doe, brother and sisters Aunts and uncle, granny and grand Pas, all because of that damn cantalope!!!Well I didn't pack anything, so when we called Hughlene to come on she had to pack my bag for me. Ya'll can imagine what all she packed for me.
Well, now it was the 19th of July and guess where my regular Dr was? on vacation, so his on call guy would be Kent's best friend for the duration of this birthing process. The Dr spoke very little English so Kent caught very little information about the process and why it was taking me so long to spit this child out. Non english speaking Dr. told Kent NOT GAS..BABY! And The only other thing Kent could get out of him for sure was "BIG BABY" that's all the Dr kept saying. Not GAs Big BABY...The next day rolls around 20th I was so tired of being in the Labor and delivery room by myself I finally ask if I could just go sit with my family in the lobby. The agreed..The look on everyones face was one of those priceless moments. This whole time I was having contractions and in labor but they didnt think I was dialated the way i should be so I just waited with the family in the lobby. I would double over and Uncle Paul would scream for me. I love him for that. He finally could not take it anymore and went home. Kent said he told him I wouldn't care if it was a lizard at this point just give us something.
Kent...poor thing he had to endure his mom my mom and all the grannies. His dad would just say take her somewhere else!!! My dad would go outside and smoke. Kent stayed up right along with me for 3 days, when I slept he did to.
Finally the non English speaking Dr. told Kent C-Section....Never even thought to ask for one of those. It seems like my baby girl was turned wrong and they could not turn her the right way, was hoping she would turn by herself. Not my girl!! By God she was comfortable and no one was changing that!!
So Early in the A.M. on July 21, 1981 our baby girl was given to Kent. I came out of recovery on my way to my room before I ever knew it was a girl. That NOT GAS BIG BABY weighed a whooping 7lbs. 2 oz. But then in 3 days she probably did lose 5 lbs, who knows?
My My medicine and the whole process has changed so much 29 years later.
I remember my Mom telling us that when the time came for her to have babies, she went to the hospital Daddy went to the bar, they knocked her out and when she woke up poof! she had a baby and Daddy was sleeping it off. This process was repeated 4 times for her. Thanks MOM for telling me about the birthing process!!!
Happy Birthday Janie, I would do it again 10 times if another you was guaranteed to me! Love you baby girl, good night...Mom...smooch smooch!

Pattern beginning to show here
If anyone keeps up it seems like I only get to blog on Wednesdays. That the day Kent is playing with the neighborhood children and I have the house to myself. Love Hate kinda. I love the TV not on and hate being by myself.
No one ever told me about changing jobs and what it effects.
Hughlene(best Mother in law in the world) talked me into my current job. I was happy at the bank, but the allure of 2 weeks off at Christmas was the carrot in my face. Somehow she failed to mention that 2 weeks off at Christmas did not necessarily mean 2 solid weeks 14 days half a month off. It converts to if you have everything finished and the W2 ready to print the day you get back you can have the time off type of job.
Well After 12 years of a very stressful enviroment I have asked to be reassigned to a campus level position. I have not had to work with or around children so to say the least it will be a challenge for me. I'm not sure i like children other than my grands. But I am looking forward to the change in my enviroment. I just hope the children have a better sense of humor than some of the adults I have encountered.
I have worked with ADULTS my entire working career. I use the word adult with one eye closed. Some older people are not Adults at any age I have found out. Some older people have no sense of humor and would not recognize humor if it came to them in a clown suit.
Humor and laughter is the only way I can get thru any given day. For me it truly is the "Best Medicine"
There has been forces that tried to steal my joy and laughter and those forces have certainly dimmed my joy and laughter, but it is slowly finding its shine again. I liked the person I was and I hope my new responsibilities in my new job returns me to the person I once was.
My friends I made are forever in my heart and I will not forget or forsake them, because I need them more and more each day. I want to return to the friend I once was to them. The one I was before I let stress take over. So even if you thought I wrote you off I didn't. Even if you don't want to be my friend anymore you are. Even if I can't remember who you were to me or if you were ever anything to me you will be my friend again. So look out.
Time for me to hush....So, good nite to all and to all, good nite!! Nen

Time Off
Kent has been off since the last week in June and finally got to go fishing. I hope he catches the biggest and the mostest. He, Stack, Pete and Mikey all got off around 8 pm. If the other 3 was as excited as Kent they may not come in until tomorrow afternoon. Kent has cleaned his boat for the last 3 days in anticipation of this day. Mikey's boat was not as clean as Kent's but they looked about the same size. And we all know size don't matter!! I have to go back to work tomorrow but Kent said if I wanted to when I got off he would take me fishing. I want to even if we don't get to stay all nite, Arkansas has given me fishing fever.
Today I went to Tyler with Janie and all of my grandkids...It was a ass whooping! We had a blast but good lord I don't know how she does it. I might could handle it better if Kyle was potty trained and I do hope they work on that. He would get to stay with Pa alot more if he was. Kent aint gonna change a diaper if he dont have too. At one point today I ask Kharley to take him to the restroom with her and before she could sit down he had jerked his clothes off and of course I didn't have a diaper with me. We left that store comando style. The next stop I had Kentlee and Janie took Kyle, she was trying to get him to pee in the potty when he peed all over his shorts. Little boys should not be allowed in stores until they are totally trained...She was looking for me and found Kharley, Kharley started to look for me and Kentlee, last seen in the toy dept. found us then lost her mom and Kyle... Lord she got so mad...She kept telling me " I told her to stand right here I would be right back" I didnt know Kyle had peed on hisself and she was needing to take him to the car of which I had the keys....3 ring circus I swear. We made it home safe and sound, only to see Kent get stung by a red wasp. It did not hinder his trip to the Lake, just pissed him off. Between him and Kyle I was getting a little fed up with Piss.
I had a wonderful 4th of July. The kids brought the fireworks to our house, Jack came down and we all sat in the back yard, watching and hoping Kharley did not set Jeff on fire. (It could happen) Hard to believe she is old enough to lite the fireworks. When it was just her, we always went to the public boat ramps on Fork and watched the displays. She called them "Sky Poppers"Ths was the first year in 10 that we did not go the the ramps to see the skypoppers.
Kentlee is not a big fan of fireworks and Kyle wants to hold the wrong end.
Okay I have a firework memory...My brother Jackie and I was in the back yard at Point and had some black cat fire crackers. I was maybe 4-5 he was maybe 6-7, I had no clue about the mechanics of fire crackers. As far as I can remember it was my first experience with them without adult supervision. Jackie told me to hold the fire cracker and he would light it. I did exactly what he told me to do, I held the fire cracker and he lite it.....then he ran off.......then it exploded in my little 4-5 year old tender hand......DID HE SAY THROW IT DOWN???? No he did not!!.....then momma appeared on the back porch.....then Jackie got his ass whooped.....then I got a candy bar....Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. Never will forget it, I got to eat both of them, Jackie didn't get to get one, Ha Ha Ha...Ouch Ouch Ouch.
The end..
To all a Good night...Nen

Yankee Doodle Dandy
It's almost the 4th of July. Today the 3rd of July it has rained I can only remember one other July 4th it rained and it was 2008. It poured and me and 2 of the 3 grandkids walked in the creek in front of the house, we waded up to their knees not mine. Kyle was to little to play with us, so him and Pa sat on the porch with the parents and Kharley Kentlee and I got soaking wet on the 4th of July with no swimming pool in sight. Fun Fun Fun. I hope tomorrow it does the same.
After keeping the kids 2 days in a row I am pooped! Today Kent and I piddled around here. He on the outside and me inside the house. He got a few more toys on the porch, a peddle car and tractor. We are looking for the rocket we have, I think it is in the shop and he says he doesn't think so. One day he will learn to listen to me. I will have to go show him where it is...but that means I will be having lots of other treasures to play with also. There is the Pontiac sign I want to put on the back porch and I know it is in the eave of the shop, I want it down here, but Kent will have to get the extension ladder to get it down.
Kent and extension ladders are not the best combination. It seems like he manages to hurt hisself everytime one gets near him. I KNOW IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ME TRYING TO HELP EITHER, Tutz and Jeannette!!!
One time we were cleaning up the trees in front of our new house and we did not own a pole saw. So the ext. ladder and chainsaw were the weapons of choice. Well Kent would climb all the way to the top of the ladder and I would do my best to hand him the saw and keep the limbs from falling on the ladder or him. I was only capable of doing one or the other. Take care of the saw or the limb, never both at the same time. Well the limb fell against the ladder and knocked it out from under him. I was watching him hang on to the saw (still running) and trying to move the limb, he was yelling at me to help him....what could I do, so I moved the ladder on out of his way so he could let go of the tree. It played out a little differently in my mind then it actually happened. He said to move the ladder SO I DID. I was scared the damn saw was going to cut him in half and he was scared of falling out of the tree. Well he survived the fall didn't he???
Another time he was building the carport with our neighbors help, it is all metal so he was welding it and he was standing on the very top of the same extension ladder and I noticed his shirt was on fire. I had got him this welder for Christmas one year and he loved it but to this day I am scared of it about as much as the chain saw. Anyway, he was ON FIRE on top of that ladder and I just knew he could not feel the heat because it was 110 that day in August, so I run as fast as I could to get the water hose, about the time I get it aimed at him he noticed me and the fire all at the same time. I was ready to drown him in order to keep him from being burned alive, he turned pale white and just kind of melted down the ladder yelling at me the whole time to never, never, ever use a water hose on a person holding a arc welder in there hand. Well he did not have to yell at me so loud, I would have taken the advice better in a calmer tone of voice.
That damn extension ladder has caused me more grief than I would have ever thought possible.
Kent has lost a good chain saw and a new shirt all because of that ladder. Sometimes it just doesn't pay to be a blessing. And I know that is Kent's thought too! Right Kent?
Going to bed, Hope all have a really safe 4th of July, so love to all and to all a good nite. Nen
Right Kent?

Aint it good to be back home again!
Hello to anyone that wants to read this. I have had the best summer of my life. Truly the summer of 2010 will go down in my history book as the best ever. I took a journal with me to the Bahamas and while I was recovering from a severe burn I started recording my journey. I was barely home 1 week when I left for ANOTHER vacation. Trout fishing.
The Bahamas were breathtaking. Our accomadations were Atlantis at The Cove. The view from our room was what post cards are made of. Absolutley out of this world and one that I never dreamed that I would be able to say I would experience. I kick myself to this day for doubting wanting to go on this trip. Kent finally said, it is something you will probably NEVER get the opportunity to do again you better go for it. So I got a passport and on the plane I went.
I am glad to say I am smarter than my luggage and I never got lost one time, even changing planes in Georgia. Yes my luggage got lost on the way to the islands and got lost again when I got back to Austin. But did I?? No I did not! So chalk one up for the gal from Alba with Point roots..
Got back home finally on Monday June 21. Net came to our house on Thursday the 24th We left on the 26th for my final vacation of 2010.
This one was trout fishing. I had my doubts because fishing was not a favorite childhood past time of mine, but I went along with the family and when Kent and I married we fished but mainly catfishing at Tawakoni or in the pool beside the house. Tutz always made the catfishing fun until she stabbed me in the foot with a catfish. Took all the fun out of it when you have to limp off the boat with a fish in your foot. From then on I always wore combat boots and hope the boat stays afloat. LOL.
But Susan had told me that she did not like to fish but trout fishing was the BEST. So off with the OBOY gang I go.
Susan was soooooo right!!! It is the BEST. If anyone out there ever gets the opportunity to go Trout Fishing..NOT Fly fishing, trout fishing with a spinner reel, DO IT!!
I don't know if it was our guide, the weather, the company, or what I just know catching browns on the Norfork river is as close to a sexual experience as you can get fully clothed.Even though I did not get to keep any of the browns we caught it is enbedded in my mind under the category of A double Awesome!
Did anyone guess what OBOY stands for? Not gonna tell ya. And for those that are worthy you will receive the t-shirt..LOL
Well I get to spend another day with my grandkids tomorrow. Guess what we did Today, we went F I S H I N G and no one got stabbed in the foot with a hook and we all jumped in the pool to save the perch!!! Another day of Making memories...
Don't fence me in! Love to all and to all good night. Nen

Almost on the road
Well I'm in Austin awaiting the trip to the airport in the a.m. for the vacation of a lifetime! We leave in the morning at or around 6:00 and I will be a Bahama Mama by tomorrow night ...can't wait can't wait. Jeannette approved the clothing I brought for the trip and she added a few things. OKAY so imagine me wearing a bathing suit, that is enough to scare the children, but then imagine me wearing a MUMU with elephants on it and a HUGE straw hat with a big red bow...Lord would Hughlene be proud of me. Thank you Jeannette for the MUMU and hat! (oh Lord) Carla your hats faded in comparison to the one Jeannette got. But she said thank you thank you. I am so excited about going I really don't think I am going to worry about what I have on. Got a new card for my camera and brought me a suduko book in case a hurricane keeps me out of the pool. I think I am to help Jeannette watch the girls at some point in time, we will see, I am be way to busy..laugh laugh.
Oh yeah I recommend everyone to get a nephew that will invite you to places such at this. Thank you Cord....I didn't think you could beat Vegas, but again you have proved me wrong..love ya! I think Mom would have slowed us up a bit on this trip. LOL!
In case I forgot to tell everyone this, when I get back from the Bahamas, I will then get to go on another vacation, (I never knew I wold like vacations this much) The following weekend, my plans are to go with the OBOY girls to Arkansas for trout fishing! Anyone know what OBOY stands for? Not gonna tell ya! HA! To be continued.......

Let it RAIN!
Wow what a storm. The rain was coming down in buckets and it was a wild ride on the way home. Now it has stopped and humidity if high. I hear the rumble of thunder in the distance and it is a wonderful sound. Kharley had an awful ear ache today, she went to work with her mom but just got worse. I was getting my lunch when Janie called me and ask if I could help. I got so excited I dropped a full glass of tea in my lap. Since I had to change clothes anyway I just came on home and me and her have hung out the rest of this day. She has a cat, Thanks CAROL!! that she wants with her all the time. I ain't a cat person, but for her I try. I was glad I didn't have to take the cat to the DR office with me. She got 3 perscriptions and is feeling better.
I am sure it was the medicine and not getting to come home and be with the cat.
Gotta go look at the cat, at Kharley's request. I will visit later...with ya'll

Pretend the title is really witty
It took me forever to reset my damn password for this. So I am kinda out of the mood to write now.
I hate dial up, but there are so many more things I want more than high speed internet service. I wish Verizon would let go of some bucks to access all the rural roads in our county. Shame the company is to poor to consider all of us out in the sticks.
Falling off of my Soap box now. Did anyone but me think it was hot today. It sure seems early to be this hot.
Every year at this time I wish I had a swimming pool, one a little bigger that Carla and Paul's one that my grandkids and I could all get in at one time. Kharley and I have been saving our pennies for 5 years we may have enough for the chemicals but not quite enough for the water, pool and pump. Oh well we will keep saving.
If I would stay my ass home instead of spending all Kent's money on passports I might could have a pool!

Lemonade, Rockers, Gliders and Porch Swings
These are a few of my favorite things...sounds like a song Huh? I have had a great time on my back porch...I sit in the mornings and look at old magazines, and drink my coffee and just ignore the exercise equipment in the corner...I'll get to that one day when I WANT to.
Kyle turned 3 on May 28th. Kentlee graduated Pre-School and Kharley is going into the 4th grade. Janie and Jeff will soon be married 5 years and it has all passed by with the force of a hurricane. The saying is so true---time flies.
I have been invited to spend some time with my wonderful nephew and his family and my sister in the Bahamas. OMG, I never thought I would ever go out of the country, but soon I will be leaving for a 6 day vacation in paradise. I looked at the pictures on line and it is truly the look of paradise...can't wait.
I thought when Jeannette talked me into a wet suit and going down the Snake River in Wyoming would be the only adventure she would witness...but hey HOW DO YOU LIKE ME NOW!..The Bahamas...Country Girl goes to the Bahamas...HELLO...the Bahamas, this is a once in a lifetime for me and I am going to get the most out of it I can.
So far the least favorite part has been the thought of a new swim suit. Jeannette told me the one I had with ruffles and the knees wore out would never do..... ( I think it could be patched)
Happy Trails to all and to all a good nite..

Listening to the Radio
How nice to hear the radio in the background. Where my PC is located I can open the front door and listen to my grandkids playing in their yard and all animals you would ever want to hear and softly in the kitchen is the radio playing.
I have lived in the country ALL of my life, no city dweller here, ever....Kent is originally from Dallas and that to me is just weird. I can't imagine living where you walk outside and have no privacy. I love the area we live in and the area I came from, when ever I go back home it still feels good.
Mom and Doe's house has been sold but to family members so I feel like anytime I want to visit I can stop by and just get a house hug, Granny and GranPa's place has been gone a long time the barns are still standing and I love to go just walk by them and remember how much I hated her chickens, but loved the routine of gathering eggs and feeding the hens. So much of that way of life, my grands will never know.
My father in law has cows, but they are not the gentle beast that GrandPa had. Ferdnand was the bulls name and he was a huge hereford, he would let you sit on him.
I would ride the tractor with GrandPa and his dog Mutt. GrandPa tied a piece of carpet on the hood of the Int. Harv. tractor and me and the dog would help him shredd the pasture for hours. Never thought about the danger, I was just with my GrandPa and Mutt.
We lived across the pasture from them so I have tons of memories of them.
Our childhood friend Milton......
Milton and Jackie built a cabin in the woods and they would allow me in it but not much. Granny helped them with the decor. She would just let them do anything, but then Jackie was her favorite. Me and Milton just got stuck out in the cold when it came the Granny.
One time we three went to the creek behind Uncle Roy and Aunt Sis's house, they had managed to get a rope over this awesome limb and we could swing way out over the creek and run up the side...OMG it was fun...Well you know back then the preachers would come visit. That day was not a good day to be impressing the Saints of Woosley, because we got caught coming out of the creek with mud slung from asshole to appetite. Doe's old Chevy truck, " The Apache" was our mode of transportation and it too was covered. Mom and Doe just shook there heads but never made us feel bad about being kids.
Another memory I have is at the kitchen sink. After supper Jackie would wash, Milton would rinse and I would dry the dishes ( no dishwasher) It would be HOT in that kitchen and one time Milton took the dish rag and wiped his face and head from sweat then gave it back to me and I finished drying the dishes. Mom never said a word but I remember Doe hollering at him for it, never thought nothing about it.
Then there was that damn shetland pony..........he hated Milton!

She's Gone!!!!
Well my sister came in on Wed. and left today on Monday..When she gets to come down we have so much fun and work so hard, I think we are both glad to be rid of one another when the time ends. We got into so much trouble this time, I am wondering just how old we really are. Painted the porch, helped clean house, garage sales, visited Carla in Winnsboro, mowed yards and she was helping Kent at one point and got catapulted across the back yard...This pole that was in her way almost secured the fact that Kent would never have any more children..I laughed so hard I wet all over myself and then Kent made me finish what we was doing in my wet clothes and kept calling me pissy pants... my sister laid there for about 5 minutes making sure she did not have a stroke in the process. It was one of those priceless moments...and I am sooooo glad no video was in the area.
Kharley has started softball, it makes for very long and interesting games. Lots of walking in this age group. She is having a great time. Kentlee will graduate this weekend from Alphabet Hill PreSchool and Kyle turns 3 on the 28th. MY MY how they grow.
Jack (father in law) manages to boss us from Waco. He went with Tony and Janey to watch Shelby play for Regional quarter finals in/around Waco a(they did win) and could not find his car keys. He called and ask if we would go see if he locked them in the car where he left it. Sure enough he did. Got his car home and he was happy. Tony brought him home...Thank you Tony for getting him home safe, we probably would have killed him.
Carla and Paul's home in Winnsboro is wonderful. So picture perfect, pics need to go in some magazine.. She has such talent. Her yard and landscape was so peaceful. Thanks for the tour.
I started the 40lb 40 day diet, so far 8.9 down, we will see. If any one else brings me any more dewberries I am gonna hurt them. Last nite I made a berry cobbler first one of the season and Stack hand cranked a freezer full of ice cream.....I was doing so good on that damn diet, but I could not resist the temptation....It was everything you can imagine GOOD! Kyle gave Stack a run for the money on who could eat the most. Finally Mom said no more! He just hung his little head down and cried, WELL I ain't havin it! Just one more small little bitty bite and I told him he could have what Stack left, which was none...Anyway he did cry anymore, Sorry Janie, when you have grands you can over rule the Mom...
Well I need to check on Kent for a pulse, he just finished weed eating the yard, Jeannette and Sarah just didn't get as close to the house as he likes.
Good nite to all and hope to get back soon. Nen

Another Saturday Nite!
On my way to the man cave even tho I did not get a personal invitation, by God I'm going! Kent had to work today and as soon as he got home he grabbed his shotgun and bottle and off he went to shoot skeet. I will figure that sport out one day. Anyway, I had just finished getting out of Janie's way and was on my way home so I could go shop for groceries, when Kent said what he was doing. Well I shopped and got the groceries put up, can hear the kids playing on the trampoline and I am lonesome, (but sick of kids) so I will partake in a little adult bullshitting and 42 playing, I hope. I hope all the Mom's reading this have a day of your wishes tomorrow on Mothers day, I know I will. Good nite and wish me luck.....Come ON!

Elementary My Dear
Western Week will be the death Kharley's true sense of fashion. In trying to make her smile, just one time this week, I drug out my Great Aunt Myrtle's authenic western dress. Red and White gingham ck. It was bound to be made out of the cheapest material in the world, (made during the depression) but it was well built. Like the ever ready bunny, it keeps going and going. Janie wore this dress during her high school years she graduated in 99, I wore this dress in 76 at our BiCenntenial celebration in High school. My sister ( who is ALOT older than I am) wore it way back in the 60's for her western day. So I am glad I still have it and hope this will bring my Kharley's smile back. Next week back to shorts, tshirts and flip flops! The boys Kentlee and Kyle have poison ivy/oak, and are miserable and pink from calamine lotion.
We are still watching the postage stamp sized garage sale tv, just hate to spend the money for a new TV when we really should be outside until we go to bed.
Softball season has started and not to a very good start, but the Lady Bugs will triumph! or at least score, please someone, just one run is all we are asking for! Okay I gotta go iron that relic of a dress for Thursday so hope my iron doesn't spit rust on it! (Aunt Myrtle it was a mistake if it happens, I swear)

End of the WeekEnd
I just asked Kent to figure out a way we could retire. His comment, "Being off all the time would kill me" We both took off on Friday so we had a 3 day working weekend. We are fixing to put up a calf in the lot at the barn, so we cleaned on it for 2 days, found an old water well up there and managed to have enough equipment around here to draw water from it. This means we won't have to haul water to the barn. If you have never done this, it sucks. The bucket was hanging on the fence, the pulley was in the garage, the A frame was from Mom and Doe's. All we needed was a rope. Kent said I had to go buy one he was not giving up his rope he used for the boat and the river. 50" rope works but could use a longer one. We cleaned, trimmed trees, repaired fence and mowed. Today I went with Janie, Jeff and kids to look at a house. It was nice and I hope they can figure out a way to get it. They need more room and want to live on Granny's place. Verdict is still out on that one. I would miss them terribly. Supper was prepared by Chef Mama and it was wonderful. A RIBEYE STEAK AND TATER IS HARD TO BEAT. He can get the best "scald" on a ribeye, best one so far this year. Belly is full and sleepy, great way to end the weekend!

Another Wednesday
Kent is at the shed with the boyz. I know he loves his Wednesdays. I still have not got the courage to buy more paint, so the porch is not completely finished. Looking for that day though. Carla came by to see us this afternoon, I have missed her and was real glad to see her. It is like she is on the other side of the world in Winnsboro, a whole 30 miles away. I want to go see her new house and just have not made the time, but I will I promise. Janie and her family came down and had supper with us tonite, I didn't think there would be enough but sure enough every one got full and they have all just left. Jeannette was going to come in this weekend for Canton, but with the rain coming she backed out so I had the house cleaned for just me, wow it sure feels good to come home to a clean, smelling good house. Since we/Kent started working on the porch I have just kinda let everything slide and it was sure showing. I think Jeannette should just call me once a month to say she is coming up just so I will get my ass in gear to clean. It is real important to me what she thinks when it comes to my house. She treats me like a queen when I go visit her, she always has a little surprise on my pillow....I love that. I do good to put clean sheets on the bed for her. Granny Jennie has been gone 3 year on the 26th of the Month. I miss her so much, for the last 10 years of her life she was in the nursing home and just knowing she was there and going by to visit was a comforting feeling for me. Even though she couldn't get out and walk the pasture or chase the bull with the umbrella we could still talk and laugh and she always could make me laugh. (crying, wonder if I ever will think of her and not cry)I want to be just like her to my grandkids. I want them to always want to come to my house and don't ever want them to think they are a burden. Janie, well that's a different story...just kiddin Jane, you have no idea how much I love you and wish I could have been a better Mom, one of them that always knew exactly what to do and when to do before it needed to be done. Like you are turning out to be. Enough with the gooy shit, she should know I love her or I think a lot of that kid, that is what Granny used to tell us..."I think a lot of you kids" never heard her say I love you...WELL LISTEN TO ME GRANNY JENNIE " I LOVE YOU AND THINK A LOT OF YOU, STILL."

Liquor Cabinet
Get your attention? Well some might know this others not, Kent has been screening in our back porch for month's now, got it finished and it is wonderful. We had a lot of old barn wood left over and he decides to make a cabinet for the porch. (Deep breath, exhale) It has taken every spare moment and weekend since the last piece of screen went up to complete this cabinet. IT IS AWESOME. He is so picky when it comes to shit like this. He is also a machinist, which will drive anyone with a random thought crazy. He had the plan in his head and NO ONE is allowed to know what the plan is until he reveals it. It is so heavy, I could not move it or help him move it from the garage to the porch, so he called in reinforcements. Thanks Pete, (use a heating pad and ice bags, alternate it will help.) Anyway, while Kent has been really busy on the cabinet, I have tried to keep myself as busy, so I thought I would paint the raw wood on the outside of the porch. Got my paint, brushes, rollers and straight edge, opened that canof paint.....Now mind you I love the color RED, but candy apple, whore house red is not my favorite, so guess what color I managed to bring home..candy apple whore house red...I painted one board, thought maybe when it dries it will be darker, so I went to the west side of the porch and painted another board thinking if it dries faster in the west sun maybe it will be darker...So I stop Kent and I ask him, what do you think of this color of paint, he said "You remember your Mother's dining room?" I said " I think I will find another color of red, that better suits my taste and not my Mom's"

TV BLUES
I stayed home today with a sick belly, last night our big TV in the LR went out again. Probably why my belly hurts. Staying home without a TV sucks. Especially when you feel to bad to even be outside. Janie is still home looking like Alvin of the chipmunk fame, so I called her today to see if she needed to get out of the house for a while. Glad no one was taking pictures for "The people you see at WalMart" because we would have been Poster children for the publication!
This kind of spring is awesome and all I am wanting to do is be home with all the windows up doing Spring Cleaning with Old country music playing loud on the radio( because my damn TV is broke and it has Sirius radio on it) Right now KMOO is about all I can pick up real clear in this area I call home.
If I ever get to the point where I can stay home all day, week, month or year, all I am going to do is cook and mow the yard. That's all I want to do now, but by the time you work all day then come home to the washing and cleaning it just takes a toll on me.
But one day I will be Granny Jennie, (outside person) Momma, ( the cook) and Aunt Myrtle (one of each) Right now I am Gurney, who worked all day to come home to work some more.
Love to all who reads this, Nen

Wednesday Nite Car Club
Every Wednesday for as long as I can think back, the "men" in the neighborhood meet at Stack's shed. At first it was a great opportunity to work on old cars and they all had something to give to the project "Gasser" For whatever reason it has now turned in to a bullshit session and they all can just out lie each other. No girls allowed! kinda club. So this gives Tutz and I a nite off of cooking so we take advantage and go out and eat. It is all good. Tonite however, we did not go I backed out because my daughter had all 4 of her wisdom teeth cut out and was a little whiney...I mean bitchy, so I hated to leave my grandchildren in harms way, hopefully the moon will change or the teeth will grow back and she will be her sweet self again.

Given' it a shot!
Okay, I have read Pam's blog and cried right along with her, have visited Cords blog and as always amazed beyond belief, so not wanting to be out done, I am trying it.. And yes I am still on a old fashioned dial up internet connection....It thinks a lot faster than I do anyway, so surely it will be able to keep up with my thoughts. Right? I love facebook, but so many pictures takes so long to load on granny dial up sometimes it just a waste of time for me. So I will blog..Sounds like blah blah blah, kinda. Who's gonna read it anyway? I write in my journal from time to time and this might be better. who know's. Whne setting it all up I kinda was looking for a really patriotic background but didn't see one on the first page, so I though simplicity would be more suited for me.
I liked Pam and Danny's title so much I hope she don't mind me mimicking hers in the same fashion. I think we have a happy house, it smiles at me when I come home each day. Kent and I are happy, managed to raise a happy kid, a few little road bump along the way. Just taking a little sip at a time. Since it my first time, a true virgin at this, I won't bore who ever is reading this and take up a lot of space. So Happy Trails to all and to all a Good Night! (a form of my humor)
