Friday Jan. 6, 2017 and it snowed! We had made the decision earlier in the day to run to Tyler to spend he gift certificate Tony and his family got him from his favorite place Harbor Freight.
Random stuff runs thur my head all the time so keep up if you can. This morning on TV I heard the phrase "it's snowing in the panhandle" that phrase brings back wonderful winter childhood memories. I can remember Granny Jennie telling us it was snowing in the panhandle and we would go get our coats on. We had no idea Amarillo was 700 miles away, how different the weather was there than in Point, or what the hell a panhandle was but Granny said it was snowing and we knew she watched the local channels.
Last night my I and O was sticking on my key board, I was told to get contact cleaner and spray it on and it would clean the Dr. Pepper from the KB. Today I stopped by an automotive parts store and it was 12 dollars a can. So I went to a computer repair shop in Lindale and asked the guy what I could do. He said to spray it with diluted alcohol, take the batteries out of it first, spray it turn it over and let it air dry. UH Thank you Mr. Computer man for saving me the $12 and a new KB! He is located by Brookshires in Lindale.
November Kenny asked if he could have new basketball shoes, since his old ones were to small, I told him to find them online the ones he wanted and I would get them ordered. Kharley and Kyle both over heard "find them online" and they too needed new shoes. So what's a granny to do. Kenny needed his for basketball, Kharley the Fashionista and shoe horse, and Kyle wears his out faster than they can be replaced, so naturally I said ok. Basketball practice started and no shoes, Kharley and Kyles shoes came in, not Kenny's..I get back online and see where they are, well Kenny's are coming from China and the boat sank, so they reordered them..TODAY they came in 2 months after they were ordered. This is a note to self: Always look at website children are spending your money on.

"This is your Life"
And I think my life changes on a daily basis. For those that did not read on my FB page, Janie checked herself into a rehab. I finally got out of God's way and let him show her who she had become. Thank you Lord for slapping me down, it is what I needed. So far she is still there and I have received a letter that sure sounds like the baby girl we gave birth to.
And so: Greeting Strangers and Howdy to you!!
For the other that have not realized my life has changed (other than Janie Drama) my sister, Jeannette has officially moved in with Kent and I..........................................................................)really long pause here)
take a deep breath, yes it is all good. She has cleaned my house to DEATH. And no she will not do it for anyone else. I have had several to ask, and I would farm her out if she would let me. She is forbidden in my room and my bathroom..this I know is eating her alive. Today is her birthday and I left her with a yard rake in her hand and smile on her face. She was going to outside all day! Burning and clearing the path to I have no idea. There is a limb to go on a brush pile and it is her day to do what she loves best. Burn!!
During one of our many adventures this past month, she thought we would just tackle a storage room and re organize it. This particular storage room had housed my great aunt's contents and I agree it did need to be sorted thru and I did need to dispose of a lot. I was separating one pile and she had a pile. We divided and conquered. Keep, Throw Away and Sell....What she was piling up to throw away I would work my way over and sort it to keep, she does not recognize a treasure with the same eye that I do...so be that as it may the throw away pile was the smallest, the Keep the Largest and the sell, well it might buy us supper. Going thru the boxed away clothes is where we had the best time. We laughed so much tears ran down our legs. No that was just me, but still we laughed and all this was bringing back so many memories of our family that has been gone for so long. The smells would bring back that afternoon we sat on the back porch and listened to the grass grow...whatever we were doing just the smell of those old rags was a memory I never want to forget. Well anyway we got to her clothing item and Net found hats, dresses, bathing suits. We tried on the hats, the only thing either one of us could wear, I had the stylish little number of a black and white crocheted skull cap, just perfect for today's fashion, NO NET I'm NOT Amish, but it was better than that stupid looking sleep bonnet you had on! It was clearly made out of left over flannel sheets and ugly! more laughter and tears....Johnny came out to see what we were doing and this is the moment we found the unspeakable.....Victoria Secrets has made a small fortune off of my great-grandmothers invention and we have not received a royalty check yet....yes lying in the bottom of a storage box of my GR8-grannies treasures were the first ever crotch-less underwear!!! Close your eyes and get this visual........ Great Big Old Granny Panties with the elastic still in tack and the crotch completely and neatly cut out with scissors. Not 1 pair but 5 pair of these very unique clothing items. The look on Johnny's face was priceless. I never knew eyebrows could go up and OVER the back of your head, well his did! Net and I were laughing so hard, again tears running down my legs....After we regained our composure, or should I say got up off the ground, we got to thinking what could this possible have been used for. I know they recycled EVERYTHING but what would they need the crotch of underwear for? (of my family that reads this, these articles brings to mind Granny Mc's assy rags)
Every day, so far, has brought on a new adventure with my sister and I, so as I can I will keep posted to the fun us two have been missing out on.....
My wish is that my daughter could see the humor in this goofy family she has no control over.
Happy trails are slowly returning and to all a great day!!

A Good Day
Saturday I was in a funk. I had seen Janie briefly on Friday, still not sure what she wanted. Then Sat. I was on my way to the grocery store and she was at the trailer (?) I pulled in and honked the horn, she was there. And then she left. Still not sure what is going on with her. It just made me be in a mood I didn't care to be in. Today Sunday, I got up with a new purpose. I started cleaning the back porch, we had neglected it all summer and it did need a good cleaning. It feels so much better now.
Kent hung all my flags, and I have lots of old flags from his grandpa and my grandpa, and then just some I have. He rigged them all up across the back of the screen and then rolled them all up. It looks so much better than them in a cluster in the corner. He will do anything I ask him to do if he can, except hang tennis rackets, I don't know why but he refuses to hang them on the ceiling on the porch. I think it would be cool. I may try that on my own, he might not even notice it.
He has been so busy messing with Lt. Dan. The run is Nov 17 he had 2 more bolts to attached when I called him in for supper, now he is back out there, rattling my windows.
Our old mattress was on the back porch because We got a new mattress! I love it. I haven't known what a good nights sleep was in a long time. Thanks nettie for ordering the wrong size!!
We put the old mattress on the back porch, that was on the cleaning list. It's good, clean I have always kept a mattress protector on it. Jeff said he might take it to a friend if I didn't want it...Well I don't want it anymore, it is taking up precious room in my storage area now. Pretty soon, like in a week or 2 we will be pulling out ALL the Christmas decor!! CAn't wait can't wait!
Jack came down for a little bit and I ask him if I could have Hughlene's Christmas plates, he didn't even know she any. If I knew where they were I could get them. Kent even knew where they were so yeppers, I got the plates, service for 8. I had to borrow some when our house was on the Tour of Homes. Now I have "Gurney" Love!!
Speaking of love:
I love my new co-worker Kathy,my old coworker Carla, my New Computer, Coconut Cake Recipes, new shoes, my new shotgun and fake fingernail you can put on yourself.
Kathy showed me that one less than $5 and I already got compliments on them.
The boys are coming over Tuesday after school and spend the night and I will get them to school on Wednesday. It has been so long I hope I can do it. I am looking forward to it.
Kent just came back in the house, so I guess Lt. Dan is to his liking. I hope we don't get stuck right off the bat!
Love to all and to all a good night! Nen

Nothing really
I got the kitchen clean, the world series is over, Kent is working on Lt. Dan, so I thought I would just write a little. Maybe a whole lot about nothing.
Kent is trying to get Lt. Dan ( our mud truck) up and running for the Mud Run on Nov. 17. It is going to be so much fun. The recycle me retreat in Nov 3, as bad as I need recycling, my heart is not into it much anymore. I have truned my troubles over to the Lord and I will not shed another tear for Janie. It only is causing me grief. I still have a good relationship with the gkids dads, that I can see and get them anytime I want to, and I do. I miss my daughter but she has her own life to live and she does not want me in it, so that is the way it will be.
Kharley is doing great in Royse City. Kentlee and Kyle are on a regular routine and are beginning to come back strong. I know they miss there mom they are so much better off until she gets her shit together. Jeff has made a 360 and cares for the boys with all his heart. They both are good dads.
Don't want to talk about her...........
I don't have windows 7 loaded on my new computer. I send out the McKenzie Christmas letter each year and this year is proving to be a challenge. If you can't find Word document on your computer you are pretty much screwed. What is a Certificate of Authenticity code??? I threw the box away, if it was on the box, someone should have told me. Looks like a certificate would reveal itself as such with neon sign saying, " DON'T THROW THIS AWAY STUPID!" I didn't see it if it was there, probaly written in Japenese.
I want my bathroom remodeled. I NEVER take a bath in my tub (old deep claw foot tub) the boys have just about outgrown it, so I want a big ole walk in shower and Kent to have his own sink, it be tall for him. Then I don't have to look at his shaving stuff all over my cabinet. It seems like an easy remodel, to me, but Kent says it will be major, like most of the project I dream of.
I got a new mattress this past weekend. Thank you Nettie, it cost me a trip to Austin but I would have drove to TimBuckTOO had I of known what a difference a good nights sleep fealt like. I had no idea I hated my old mattress so much. I LOVE THIS NEW ONE!!! We still are on a queen size mattress have been for 36 years and I don't see us changing any time soon. I like being able to touch Kent at night when I reach out. Just a touch sometimes is all I need to know it is all gonna be ok.
I went to see Mr. Wallace while he was in hospice at Tyler. He is a good man. When he goes he will be missed by a lot of people at RISD. He and his wife Nina, are a good influence on small kids. Like the great greandparents to the world. Hope he goes easy when it happens. He has cancer.
When we went to Austin we took the truck and trailer. I had it serviced before we went. Services it called for a new battery, a used tire, new windshield wipers, new air filter, and oild change, then we had to get a spare tire for the trailer. Before we even left the county it costs us over $300 that day. We won't be going back anytime soon. OH!! then we got on the loop where you can drive 80-85 mph, and had to pay $20 in tolls because of the trailer...Maybe that mattress did cost of a lot of money.
I can hear Kent tuning up Lt. Dan...it is rattling the windows and drowning out the TV...such little things make him happy...like a very loud Monster Truck!!
Lost part of a back tooth this week, I guess I will wait until it starts hurting before I call the dentist, right now, food no longers gets hung up in it, and it is so nice not chew on a tooth pick after supper.
Well this fat girl is gonna watch some reruns of something, so I will close.
Love to all and to all a good night.

When are you to old for seminars?
I was just wondering....I have been to all kind of trainings, seminars, conferences, round tables, call it whatever, I have been to it. If I had gone to college would I have to do this? I enjoy going don't get me wrong, but I just wonder when I get to do my job and no one improves it or change it or make it "more friendly"? I saw a friend the other day and she said her supervisor was going to another conference and this time she had to room with another person she did not like. I would hate that!! I leave this week and I have a room all to myself....Thank you for the small things. My training is in Austin, so I have insider info, and already know what roads NOT to go on and where to stay, so I enjoy the trips, just wish I could KNOW IT ALL so I didn't have to leave this place I call Paradise.
cough cough......You know when I leave Kent will not make the bed, and leave all the cabinets open and his wash rag in the shower! Yep this is my Paradise, would have no other.
Hope all is well in your Paradise.
Happiness and Smiles!

3months later
Okay since the last time I posted anything this has totally changed, so I'm not sure if anyone will ever get to read this.
I have been thru Hell and back with Janie and her family. I love her but right now I can't stand her or her decisions and the choices she is making. Not my business until it involves the 3 little kids I care so much for, and then I make it my business!
She has fought me tooth and nail and called me everything but a child of God and I have come to the conclusion and am in agreement with the saying" what don't kill me will make me stronger." Or something like that.
I have a new job since the last time I posted. I started July 17 at the HISTORICAL RAINS COUNTY COURTHOUSE! I love working with Kathy and Wayne, they make me smile.
Kent is still the one constant in my life and I cling to him to the point of him being smothered.
I have meet the new Superintendent of RISD, so far he seems to be a nice guy with a good attitude, I;m sure Jeff F and Josh W will cure that before to long. Hope not though.
Jeannette has sold her house in Austin and it looks like she will truly be moving back home, I really had my doubts but it is looking very promising now. She will live with us until she gets her house built down here.
Just what Kent needs, another me to wart the hell out of him. LOL
Kharley is loving Royse City, I still hate it. Kentlee and Kyle are adjusting to a regular routine. Kentlee is the fashionista and Kyle could care less, they keep me hopping. I want to do so much for all of the them, but have to pull back.
OH MY----did I mention I got a new computer???!! It is all in one, like those wrenchs you see at sears...everything in a easy package...This I am in love with.
I need Bradshaw Tech Support to come show me all the bells and whistles...hint hint
I miss you Carla, I need a cigarette and a sonic sweet tea.
I will try and figure out how to post this and hope someone gets to read it.
Happy trails ya'll.
