SNOW!! LOVE IT

I like the snow.  I do I do I do!!  I also like not having to worry about getting to my job in the snow.  Kent for the first time in a while said "It ain't worth it" so it was a snow day for him as well.  The gkids came down and we have had a blast today.  Jeff had to work so Janie was acting just like the gkids and was jumping up and down to be outside. Kents gets the keys and a closet full of clothes on and cranks the 4 whlrs.  Over the creek and thru the woods, they all go.....My beautiful picture perfect yard and pastures and tore up! But oh what fun it is to ride behind a 4whlr in a little tike turtle sand box lid......that dont really rhyme but golly gosh it was fun.  Our 4whlr (thank you Paul) will do the BEST donuts!  Jack's 4whlr will just dig and go!  So after a while Kent let me play on ours (alot funner than Jacks) and I tore it up some more.  We went to see how hard the pool was frozen.  Kent had gkid #2 with him I was alone. He drove right to the edge of the frozen pool and I was thinking I hope he stops...well he did, but then it would no back out...so here I come to save the day!!  And I ask him what the hell was he thinking....he just wanted to see if a cow stepped on the ice would it break....and if the front wheels would break it then he knew they could get water.  WEll at the time that theory did not enter my mind.  He is trying to get out of playing in the snow with me by driving off in to the lake, is what I was seeing......cow getting water my ass!  Anyway between me screaming and him throwing muddy snow all over me I,,I,,II  get him out of the pool.......(yall believe me right?)
So after that I take Gkid#2 home and we both go in the house to warm up and before you know we are both snoring our heads off.  We wake up just in time to get a bath and go to visitation for a friend of ours.
This is a serious time and not to be taken lightly, we always "try" and have a little control of our emotions and actions at the funeral home, but not tonite...........!!!
Kent and I are looking for a parking spot that is not boot top deep in snow or icy mush.  He thinks he finds one but when I open my door it is a lake.  So he pulls up just out of the water and I get out.  He tells me to go ahead so I do and I am waiting for him at the door.  I wait and wait. He the hell is he, is he talking to someone did he find a better place to park?  There were several people coming out of the funeral home and they are all looking in the same direction as they come out so I turned to see what they are looking at.  Well there is a person on the ground over there by a chevy truck. That guy must have fell down, they start walking toward this guy and I am just looking at this guy thinking I wonder if thats Kent.....This guy is crawling toward the truck and slowly gets up and is still slipping ever time his feet get under him....No that aint Kent he would not fall it is to wet to be on the ground, surely that is not Kent...This guy finally stands up starts dusting the snow off of him and then gets a good footing and walks toward this crowd of people and it is Kent, he is laughing as hard as I am by now.
I say Kent was that you on the ground over there? He said who did you think it was? And why didn't you come help me?  Well if anyone knows me he does, and he knew I was laughing to hard to help anyone.
So I help him dust what he can't reach off and we go on into the funeral home.  He is soaked. We pay our respects and leave.
On the ride home He tells me he would have gotten the gold medal for his combination gymnastic/ice skating abilities.  I know I would have given him a 10 if I had of only seen the beginning of the event.

Good nite to all and happy snow day of 2011-Feb 4

Think Warm thoughts

I'm thinking fishing in the pool waded up to my knees with my fishing pole. Okay I am fixing to move over there to the really mossy area where I know there is a perch bed, can ya'll hear my feet making that sucking noise when you feet is all buried up in a muddy muck of the stock pond. I am catching perch as fast as I can since I moved over here.  The hot summer sun feels so good on my shoulders, I have sweat running where I hate for it to be running.  Oh No Macky, (the dog) don't jump in by me!!! Dammit, all the perch are gone now.
The pond I want to be fishing in RIGHT NOW is almost frozen completely across it.  It not thick enough to walk on but still its frozen.....Now that is cold!  I thnk my feet are the coldest too.  I go barefooted when I am home, I hate wearing shoes and socks inside the house, and I can't think of another time my feet has been this cold.  Janie and Jeff are experiencing frozen pipes so they have been coming down here to bathe and when the kids get out of the tub, they come running thru the house.  I look at there feet and cringe, cold little toes and feet....I start for the dresser to look for socks, don't care if they match of not, I just get cold looking at them.
At school today we experienced our first "Rolling Black Out"  we were without elec. for about 20 minutes.  When the lights came back on, we were told in order to protect the server, we had to do without heat..  !!??
It's 18 degrees outside of the metal doors and haddock block building... 18 degrees, not counting in the wind chill factor so you know it was bitter cold rushing in when the doors opened.  Protect the server??? what about my feet!!!!! they are cold, forget the children, my feet are cold!!  Rumors were running wild, we may let out early, lets feed the children then we will send them home....feed the children................my feet are cold, anybody listening to ME!  I was so glad to see 330 get there.  The children are gone we can leave, my car has wonderful seat heaters and I rode home setting on my feet....

Okay here is some more G-Kid- ism :  they are all leaving and Janie tells them to thank me for letting them take a bath in warm water.  Kharley (10) gives me a big hug and says thanks and thanks for braiding my hair.  Kyle (3) Tank oo Nen for taking a baff...Kentlee (5) I like your bathtub Nen I'll be back 2mrw and take some more.

Yesterday they all stayed with me.  We watched Toy Story 3, MY Favorite movie so far......OMG  if you haven't seen it I highly recommend it, it is woderful!! When it was over. I pulled every blanket, quilt, and cover that I had out and we made tents all over the living and dining room.  We had tunnels going under the swing, thru the dining chairs around the back of the couch.   Then I cooked a cake Tutz told me about, it's called Honey Bun Cinnamon cake......delicious....It is all gone, in one day.  I hope the kids had as much fun as I did.  I I I me me me, I never set foot outside the house yesterday, my feet were warm all day.  Today they have not been warm since I got out of bed.  I am going to bed tonite with socks on and I may put my socks in the microwave to warm them up before I go to bed.
To everyone that is reading this Try to stay in as much as you can, stay warm and if you have elderly people in your life be sure and check on them, there feet might be cold.
Love to all and to all a good nite.    Nen

2nd day of school closing

This is just weird. Our first snow day was Jan. 10 and then today Feb 1.  On this day we have no snow just freezing rain, sleet and high high winds..Crazy.  When Janie called this morning the conditions were not bad she said did you know they closed school?  Yeah ( I work there)  not sure cause the weather is not that bad right now, found out they were thinking about this afternoon getting the kids home would be worse than relaeasing early.  So today me and the grands are watching Toy Story 3 and staying out of the wind.  Pete Delkus told us the wind chill would be -1......does that really happen in Texas.  Guess so, next week it will be back to normal, whatever it is in Feruary.  Kyle is hungry 24-7 that little feller may eat me out of house and home. Kentlee and Kharley are playing together and it is just nice to hear them not yelling at each other. I know it won't last long but I am going to enjoy it all I can.  Well before Kyle starts peeling a tater I guess I better start some lunch.
Be back later  Nen

The New Rains Intermediate School

Okay so it really is not a new building, but it will be to our campus and us.  The elementary got a NEW building and we get there old building, but we aint calling it the old elementary, IT THE NEW INTERMEDIATE. And we are all Soooo excited about it.  I get to share the open office with another secretary and it will be totally remodeled, hopefully to our specs.  Karen and I worked on the plans today and came up with a Welcoming, Feel Good enviroment for all that come to our NEW School.. We have a theme also, that I am so proud of and that is School Pride.
Our principal is really into our need for a good working enviroment and has gone to bat for all of us several times. He listens, considers, suggest and adds to what we have to save.  He is a great boss.

Enough about my work space and me me me!

My wonderful sister will be ytxis owt her birtday or is it spelled owt ytxis, I know it got to be painful and I wish I could see her on her ## birthday,  I would make her a devils food cake with seven minute icing.......and give her a big bouquet of forget me nots...(she knows)
I love Nettie, don't know who I would be without you!            Translation:  It's all your fault! !!!LOL!!! hehehehhahahaha.  Or in the infamous words of our Granny Jennie, I think alot about you, kid.

I really didn't start this to compare you to Granny, but did you ever think about this.  When she was your age (ytxis owt) she had a grand daughter (you) that was 22.......Your oldest grand daughter is how old???? 4.....This means, well you know....
Someone might need to ck my math.....JOHNNY!!!! Aint this right???
I think now that I have pissed my sister off, I will go visit my husband at the man cave.

Good nite to all and to all a good nite....love nen

Long Week

When Kent got off vacation he went back to work only to find out he would be working 7days a week 12 hour days.  Did his company not do anything while he was gone?  Sunday morning by yourself is not good. Made our bed, fixed my breakfast, cleaned house yesterday, so there is not much to do today. AND I get to do it all by myself.  I could go get a grand kid or 3 but I think they need to spend quality time together.

I watched The Rains team (white or black) play basketball yesterday afternoon. They were the black team. There are 7 players including Kharley.   Scott and Jamie the coaches and then all the parent and grandparent bleacher coaches.  I know they love us all!
I think Jamie ask me to keep the books so I would shut up. It worked, I was told the clock/book keepers  could NOT cheer for either team on the court.....GRRRR!!  But I really like keeping the books for her little team, I hope she keeps asking me.  Our little team played really good and continue to improve.  We lost both games, but it was not a blow out.  21-18  then 22-23.....so not bad at all.  Looking forward to next Saturday.

Well I think I will go dust the vaccum or find a book to read.  Hope all have a great week!
OH!!!  I might watch the playoffs for the superbowl!!!

Good day to all and to all a Good DAY!!   Love Nen

Ode to the doorknob!

This is a true story, no name are changed cause it don't matter..and innocence is for the innocent....
This morning at 415 like every morning for the past 35 years Kent gives me a kiss and leaves the house, HI HO HI HO it's off to work he goes....Then at 530 or so I roll out to start my day. BLAH BLAH BLAH!

Imagine my surprise when I step out of the bed  reaching for the bathroom door and it slapped me in the face because the damn thing is locked! It rattled me pretty good cause I'm still half asleep and so I holler out... Kent! you still here??!!       No answer, I go look outside, the truck's gone so I go back to the door and try it again, its still locked.............thnking thinking thinking...........
I have another bathroom, so no worries, I just go in there and shower and get ready..........just wondering how that door got locked or why would he do that, it wasn't funny and then I thought....Well damn, my closet with the "good clothes" are in that locked bathroom...hummmmmmmm....Okay I have other clothes, this will not defeat me and  I go to the dresser and pull out some sweat pants and t shirt still thinking it won't be that bad ....okay I can do this..........no makeup no curling iron but my body is clean and I have on clean clothes, I can make this work........Then I go for my shoes........ I have no shoes in my dresser....................it's 28degrees outside you can't put on enough socks for that to work............
Just last nite I had like 5 pair of shoes laying everywhere all over the house, so I gathered them all up and put them away, even some of Kents of work boots and tenny shoes, all put up in there place, (in that locked up closet) .......house is in order, a good feeling...(that was last night) So a sense of urgency has now hit me. I really need to get into that bathroom.  I have this problem with lights being on and doors open, and I knew that was the case behind that locked door...not just the need for clothing and shoes but that door was open and the light was on..GRRR!!! The need for order in my house was getting overwhelming now!
So I think..... Okay I"ll  get the hammer, screwdrivers and a nail (it just sounded like I needed one) I have seen Kent do this I can do this....so I start banging on the doorknob......(dumbass,,, it's glass,,,, what did you think would happen) So I go get the vaccum clean that up, then stand back as assess the situation........get that screw driver and jam it in that hole and pop that cover thingy off.............(sounded like a good plan)...screw driver snaps into, I hit my hand on the door....... I am really getting pissed now.......The only thing left was that nail.               And I thought save you some trouble and jam it in your eye and go the ER....but I didn't........I got me another cup of coffee and I call my Mr. Fixit neighbor, Stack,  to come help me out.  Tutz tells me he has already gone to work, sorry. So I get another cup of coffe and just start thinking, call work and explain this (yeah right, like they are gonna believe this one) then it hits ME.... (I need shoes, need that door closed so the light will go off....) get a paper sack and breath into it.  It will be okay!! He did this on purpose it aint funny and he knows it!!! calm, think calm thoughts find your happy place nen....okay I am better......

I go my Face book place and simply post it and I am  amazed how early and fast people respond to the dumbest shit......Cause that's what this day had started out like....A DUMB SHITTY DAY!!!   about that time Janie calls me and says MOM what have you done, well really I didn't do anything, this was all Kent's fault (innocently enough it was his fault) so I explained I was being held hostage by my shoes (as my sister says) so Janie is on her way to show me how to unlock my door                     (really?)
Guess what?  she can't unlock the door either, we visit for a little while, she goes back to work, I swear she was laughing but can't prove it, as she drives off, then I get another suggestion from facebook, this time from her co-worker, she will send her husband over and HE WILL UNLOCK THE DOOR........he gets here pretty quick, thank you Dougy, I be dang guess what he does, grabs a screw driver and pokes it in that hole and ask me what happened to your door knob...I say don't ask, just open the door. Screw driver trick won't work so He uses the 'Ole Credit Card Trick" and viola!!! Access to shoes!!!!!!
I had seen that done before but it never entered into my simple mind it would be that easy to do that.  I guess I thought it only would work in covert operations or something criminal...not just because the bathroom door was locked.
So that ladies and gentlemen (if any) is a true story of another day in the life of Nen!
Everyone else keep your finger crossed I don't get locked inside my house tomorrow =)
Love to all and to all a Good Nite!!  Nen

Another Wednesday(thank you Lord)

In case you have not heard I now have High(er) speed Internet.  HughesNet...love it! It was my Christmas present from Kent..love that guy! So maybe I will be more active on the Blog scene.  I am really glad I am able to get to write another blog, and I thank the Lord for that.  There is a lot of sickness already this month. My 2 grandsons, my sister and a good friends dad..Wish they could all be better by the weekend.  My granddaughter plays her first basketball game this Saturday in Quitman (1-8-11) She should be the star of the show of course.  A little clumsy maybe, can't dribble, can't make a shot and forgets to keep her eye on the ball, but other than that she is a star!

Kent has been on vacation this week.  So far we have gone to the show, It was a good show, westerns are not really my favorite, but the company was great.  The next day he had supper started when I got home. The next day he kept Kentlee for a little while, and then spent the rest of the day with his Dad. He has a Dr. appt tomorrow, so maybe Friday he can lay on the couch all day and meditate (sleep) He deserves it.

Guess what?? I have been invited to go to the BAHAMAS again!!  It was so much fun and was Beautiful...
you think they natives will recognize me in the same bathing suit?? It was only wore that one time, hate to buy another one.  I could become accustom to such luxuries.....Ha Ha and LOL!!!

The new Elementary opened up with the new Year. It is the crown of the County.  Our campus will be moving in the old Elem. the next school year. 2011-2012...it will be known as the New Intermediate, can't let them PreK thru 2nd graders have the only new building!!  It will be nice to have more room with a decent gym area for our 3rd 4th and 5th grade.

Been working some back in Payroll helping with Month End, Quarterly, Year End and W-2...I love working with numbers, and didn't realize it until I was out of it for 6 months.  Guess it's like finding your favorite pair of shoes.  It just feels good.

Fixing to be off again, for Martin Luther King day Jan. 17, weird looking forward to another day off after having 2 weeks off, but I am!
Gonna see if the peanut butter is still good and have supper, Kent is at the Man Cave with da boyz!
Good nite to all and to all a Good nite.    Nen!
